What is the quality of the material used in your aluminum planters?
We only use marine grade 5052 aluminum for our planters. 5052 aluminum is well know for its high corrosion resistance, good weldability, excellent formability, resistance to fatigue, and high strength-to-weight ratio.
How long does corten steel take to rust?
The time it takes for corten steel to rust depends on several factors, including the environment and weather conditions. On average, it can take several months to a few years for corten steel to develop a protective layer of rust.
will corten steel stain the ground?
Yes, corten steel will discolor any surface it is sitting on. We recommend pairing your corten planter with a faux-corten powder coated drip tray to catch any runoff.
Is it safe to seal my Corten Planter?
To prevent further rusting of your corten steel planter, you can apply a clear coat of polyurethane to its exterior, which will also seal it. However, be aware that this may darken the planter's color.
